Did you know that September is National Food Safety Education Month? #LetsPaws and take a look at some items that are and are not ok for your pets to eat. Human food may be yummy, but it’s not always safe to feed your pets! Use our list below as a guide when feeding your four-legged friend human treats.

OK For Pets to Eat:

  • Carrots
  • Apples
  • Pumpkin & Sweet Potato
  • Eggs
  • Bananas
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Cooked Rice & Pasta
  • Green Vegetables
  • Cooked Turkey

Not OK For Pets to Eat:

  • Macadamia Nuts & Walnuts
  • Avocados
  • Grapes & Raisins
  • Chocolate
  • Coffee/Tea/Caffeine
  • Alcohol
  • Cherries
  • Onions
  • Sweets
  • Turkey Skin & Bones

 

*Other foods like peanut butter and cheese may be on a case by case basis. Make sure your peanut butter does not contain Xylitol, and do not feed your pet cheese if they are lactose intolerant.
