SEARCH FOUND PETS REPORTED TO OC ANIMAL CARE
(Pets reported FOUND are NOT at the OC Animal Care facility)

More than 75% of the animals at OC Animal Care are lost “stray” pets.  These pets are either found in the field by one of our officers or brought in by a community member who has found them in their neighborhood.  When a lost pet is found, upon intake of the animal, OC Animal Care will check for a name tag, license tag and microchip.  If the animal has any type of identification, the owner will be contacted.  Unfortunately, only a small percentage of pets brought into the shelter have a form of identification for us to contact their owner.

Pets brought into the shelter are examined by a shelter vet, vaccinated and placed in one of our kennels. They are provided daily care and their photo and information is placed onto our Lost Pets page on our website.  Lost pets are held for their owners to claim them for 4 - 10 days depending on what city they were found in and whether they had any form of identification.

If you believe that you have located your lost pet on our website, please call us at (714) 935-6848 to redeem your pet in person.

We at OC Animal Care love all breeds of dog. We understand that visitors may search for a lost dog or forever pet based on appearance or a "looks like" breed. Any description of dogs with respect to breed is solely based on visual appearance. The actual breed of any dog may be different than its “looks like” designation. OC Animal Care makes neither a guarantee nor representation as to the true breed of the Dog nor any connection between the described breed and the Dog’s temperament.
