In honor of the first California Adopt-a-Pet Day, OC Animal Care is offering free adoptions and resource connections!
Thanks to support from CalAnimals, ASPCA, and SFSPCA, we’re able to waive fees for every adoptable animal! Southern California shelters and rescues are full, and we expect to see even more animals relying on us for care during the busy summer months. You can bring home a new best friend AND create space in shelters for more animals in our community!
California Adopt-a-Pet Day Activities:
11 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Visitors are welcome to pre-schedule or ask for the next available one-on-one adoption visit to spend time with a particular pet they are interested in adopting.
12 – 5 p.m. – Viewing Hours are extended on June 1 and will begin at noon. Visitors are welcome to drop by to walk through and view ready-to-go-home dogs and cats during viewing hours.
12 – 5 p.m. – Join us for Resource Connections
Sittin’ with Kittens – In our Learning and Training Center, stop by to meet kittens and their foster families. Our amazing foster families will showcase kittens that have been in foster care and are now ready to find their new family! Meet one-on-one with fosters, get to know playful kitties, and fall in love!
Foster Pooches on the Patio – Stop by to meet dogs who are getting a break from day-to-day shelter life thanks to a foster hero. You’ll get to meet one-on-one with the foster who can share all about their foster dog – what they love, their favorite snacks, their housetraining routine, and so much more!
Resource Information – Information booths like “Ask the Trainer” where you’ll get to meet OCAC staff and ask basic dog training questions, "Ask the Groomer” where you’ll get to learn about different pet brushes and tips and tricks, learn about OC Animal Care trucks, Volunteer and Foster opportunities, and more!
Please note that personal pets are not able to accompany you to view available pets.
