Toby - "Pound puppies rock!"
Animal Care Success Stories

We adopted Toby in Jan 2005 at the Orange animal Shelter. I had been looking for about 2 months for our new addition, but had not found our special one! We walked by Toby's kennel but he stayed huddled in the back scared to death. We called to him and he slowly came and greeted us. The shelter thought he was about 5 years old. He had visible fight wounds all over his body and something wrong with one of his eyes. We joking did the bark test (walk away from the cage and see if he was one of those yippy guys) he passed, no bark! We requested to sit with him. My boyfriend picked him up and when Toby rested his little head on his shoulder we were sold! Toby had some medical issues we had to take care of neutering, antibiotics for the cold/cough and the large laceration on his eye but he was worth is all! He means the world to us and I couldn't imagine were we would be without him. Everyone is always shocked that he came from the pound because he is so obedient and all the tricks he knows. It is purely because of the time we have devoted to him. I always encourage everyone to adopt from their local shelter and not buy dogs from breeders. Pound puppies rock!
