SweetPea & Binky — “Extra kisses at night”
Animal Care Success Stories

I would like to share my story of adopting two dogs from your shelter. “Lucky” and “Katie” hadSuccess story - SweetPeabeen adopted by a woman from Fullerton and she unexpectedly passed away in October leaving the dogs homeless. A caring friend rescued them and brought them back to your shelter where they stayed for over one month pending notification of relatives.

The caring friend notified my friend that these two dogs needed a home. I was searching for a pal for my dog, Bambino, as my other dog, Cymba, had passed away in September. I was only thinking of taking home one dog but agreed to meet Lucky and Katie anyway.

They were very friendly and playful and I just couldn’t think of taking one home and not the other. So, I adopted both of them on December 5th and now all three dogs play and wrestle everyday. Bambino is very happy to have his new playmates as they run around the yard and protect the home from the many birds in the trees. They usually end up sleeping in a big pile on the floor.

I renamed Lucky as SweetPea because he is so sweet and lovable. He loves to roll on his back and wag his tail waiting for a tummy rub. I renamed Katie as Binky because that is what my niece and nephew chose as her name.

I hope this story encourages others to consider adopting more than one dog as I have seen many pairs of dogs in the shelter. It is not that much more work or time to care for three verses two dogs and I get extra kisses at night!
