Sebestian
Animal Care Success Stories

Sebestian - ACS Success StoryI adopted my beautiful cat, Sebastian, from the Orange County Animal Shelter in July 1993 and I can’t imagine my life without him.  I fell in love with him the minute I saw him at the shelter and spontaneously started calling him Sebastian—the name just came to me on the spot and suits him perfectly.

I was actually the third person to adopt him as the first two adoptions did not work out due to his “strong” personality.  He was an older cat and I suspect he may have been through some abuse in his previous life.  It was unclear how he came to be at the shelter, but he was already neutered and declawed so he had been someone’s pet.

I do have to admit that initially I was a bit taken aback by his disposition, but with time, patience, understanding and unconditional love, he has come a long way.  Sebastian has been constantly at my side over the past 15 years and is a beloved member of the family.  He has matured into a mellow, affectionate (okay, only if he likes you) and loyal companion.

I am constantly grateful that I was able to find him at the shelter and have been able to share so many years with him.  Our story is truly an adoption success!
