Ramona - “This is the cat for me”
Animal Care Success Stories

I was not planning on getting a black cat but after passing this little black cat, so scrawny and Ramona - no longer scrawny and hairlesshairless where she shouldn't be hairless. I noticed she seemed especially alert, munching on her vittles, and not really dismayed by her sad surroundings. I put my finger in the cage and she immediately went to lick it and I thought to myself this is the cat for me.

Despite being scared the first few days in a new house (she hid in a closet the whole time), she came around and then couldn't stop craving attention. She immediately went for my hands which obligingly scratched behind her ears. It was really funny because my handsRamona - no longer scrawny and hairless, a second view would get tired of scratching her so when I would give them a rest or tuck them behind my head she would start mewling and a desperate hunt would ensue to find those scratching hands to satisfy her scratching fix.

Well, thankfully her scratching addiction was mitigated when the Frontline finally kicked in but she remained as affectionate as ever. And as time passed she put on enough weight and grew back the fur under her belly and bottom to emerge as a truly pretty cat.

We moved to Texas a year ago and she's doing great.

Thank you,

Lisa
