Dixie - "Has certainly grown into our hearts"
Animal Care Success Stories

We adopted Dixie from the Shelter on March 19, 2006 and we cannot believe how much of a part of our lives she has become. I say we, but photo: Dixie the dogreally she was adopted by my 18 year old son, Ryan. I fell in love with her in minutes even though I didn't want to; we cannot imagine our life without her. She went to obedience school, ok we went. She is a big traveler - the Colorado River to go boating, the mountains to go rock crawling in the jeep, and Johnson & Lucerne Valleys to hang with the dog packs while we motorcycle ride. Any truck or car ride is a good time for her; she still hasn't figured out how to keep the wind out of her ears. She still has the big ears she had when we got her; she never quite grew into them, but she has certainly grown into our hearts. Everyone always asks if she is pure breed and we are happy to reply: "she's a pound puppy".

Thanks for giving us Dixie.

Ryan & Jan
