Boo & Bella - “balancing out the family”
Animal Care Success Stories

photo - Ivory and Cali In Oct. of 2006, I rescued a 3-month old kitten from the OC Animal Shelter that I named Boo. He was one of three brothers who were brought in as strays. I though he would be company for my older cat, Wink, who is 6-years old, but when I brought him home she wasn't at all receptive to him! She still is not fond of him, probably because he chases her! So, in hopes of balancing out the family, 2 months ago I adopted from the OC shelter again—Bella, a 6-year old female Chihuahua. It took a couple of months for her to get adjusted, but she is now the perfect dog! I prayed to find a dog that didn't bark much (because I live in an apartment) and one that would get along with my 2 cats. I was blessed because Bella hasn't barked, not once, since I brought her home and she also ignores the cats, even when Boo is messing with her! I think she may have been abused because she is very timid and is just starting to come to me when I call her. I'm taking it slow, but I'm sure that she will learn to trust me. Here is a picture of Boo and Bella. Thanks for all the great work you do there.
