OC Animal Care prides itself on our quality volunteers, specifically selected for their passion and love for animals! Each potential volunteer must undergo a recruitment process that ensures the volunteer and OC Animal Care are a good fit for each other. The recruitment process is as follows:
Attend an orientation meeting (an RSVP is required to attend)
Complete the selection process as described at the orientation meeting (additional steps may be required for selection depending on the position and the needs of the program)
Complete training for an assigned volunteer position
Orientation meetings are an excellent opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the volunteer program. There is absolutely no obligation to join the program, although we expect to add several wonderful new volunteers to our team from each orientation!
How do I RSVP for an upcoming orientation?
RSVPs will be accepted via voicemail message or email message made directly to the Volunteer Program Coordinator on or after a designated date (see calendars below). Voicemails or emails sent elsewhere, or those received before the designated RSVP date, will not be accepted. You will receive a follow up phone call or email message letting you know of the status of your RSVP within the following days.
Call the Volunteer Program Coordinator: (714) 796-6427
Because OC Animal Care is fortunate to have so many caring community members eager to help the animals at our shelter, volunteer orientations and their corresponding waitlists fill very quickly. It is recommended to contact the Volunteer Program Coordinator as early as possible once RSVPs are accepted.
